We very much appreciate your interest in the Texas Pollinator PowWow
Come early...stay late...bring your family!
We just love KERRVILLE and the Texas Hill Country!
http://kerrvilletexascvb.com/
There is so much to do here, no matter what your finances or your interests are. Boutique shopping, James Avery Jewelers, live music, performing arts and a range of excellent dining options. Balcony dining at sunset, overlooking the Guadalupe at the River's Edge Tuscan Grill, sounds like a very relaxing way to wind down after a long day at the conference. How about one of the many local winery tours, or a session at the first-class shooting range just outside of town?
And did we mention the outstanding outdoor activities? Many of them center around the beautiful Guadalupe River, which runs along the highway past the Cailloux Ballroom at Schreiner University. There is the Riverside Nature Center (RNC), and a four-mile river trail meandering along the bank of the tree-hung, limestone-bottomed Guadalupe from the RNC past Schreiner University. Our hotel of choice, the YO, is two miles from this scenic, easily-accessible clear water river.
How about the early evening spectacle of four million Mexican free-tailed bats streaming out of nearby Devil's Sinkhole? A tour of YO Ranch's exotic game preserve? Exploring the Kerrville Wildlife Management Area? Tubing at the Kerrville-Schreiner State Park? Mountain biking trails? Canoeing, kayaking and fishing the Guadalupe?
Like your outdoor life to be a bit 'kinder and gentler'? Try road biking along the Guadalupe. Or spend some leisure time examining and identifying the over 275 species of native trees, shrubs, vines, grasses and forbs packed into the Riverside Nature Center's one acre- plus their multitude of pollinators. There are three golf courses in Kerrville alone. Slip along the river bank at daybreak to enjoy some dawn chorus birding. Or do a little casual rock-flipping or night-hawking along the Guadalupe's riparian edge.
Bringing your little ones? There's hotel swimming, Carver Park Sprayground, Adrenaline Rush Paintball, a tennis center, jump house activities for tots, Singing Wind Skate Park, and free park playgrounds, basketball courts and horseshoe pits.
Something fun for your whole family while you enjoy the 2015 Texas Pollinator PowWow!
And did we mention this?: visiting the PowWow exhibitors is FREE to the public! So encourage your 'entourage' to swing on by the university to check it out while you are engrossed with the speakers.
